Subject: Information for Santa Claus Parade Attendance – Important Details
Dear Parents,
We are excited to inform you that AEL FC will be participating in the upcoming Hyde Park Santa Claus Parade! Here are the important details you need to know to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Date of Parade: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2024
Time: The parade will begin at 10:00am sharp! Participants please arrive by 9:00am (no later) to ensure you find the AEL FC float and we have enough time to get settled.
Meeting Location: You can park at the front parking lot of Sherwood Forest Mall (1225 Wonderland Rd North). If the parking lot is full please park at Banting Secondary School parking lot. Please walk to the back parking lot of Sherwood Forest Mall. Ask a guide to direct you to the AEL FC float. WE ASK THAT ALL AEL PLAYERS WEAR AEL FC GEAR AND THEIR MEDALS AT THE PARADE. Players are welcome to bring a soccer ball. Players can show off their dribbling / freestyle skills at every intersection. Absolutely no mini games, or passing soccer balls to the parade watchers. We MUST keep our group moving and not hold up the parade. The television cameras will be stationed at the front of Unger’s market. Players are welcome to put on a display of ball control, freestyle etc for the television camera.
Pick-Up Location: The parade will end at Sterling Marketing Products (1147 Gainsborough Rd). There will be 3 busses available to bring participants back to Sherwood Forest Mall. There will be approximately 1000 participants in the parade so waiting for the busses can take some time. We HIGHLY recommend parents wait at Sterling Marketing Products to pick up their children. Please do not leave children unattended.
We ask that you arrive promptly for pick-up to ensure the safety of all children.
What to Wear: Please ensure your child is dressed warmly, as the parade may be chilly. Rain or shine the parade is a GO! Please dress appropriately. Children should also wear sturdy shoes, as there will be some walking.
This is AEL’s 4th year in the parade! We are looking forward to celebrating this special event with your child. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
